WHY DO PORON URETHANE FOAM MATERIALS WORK SO WELL?
-
COMPRESSION SET RESISTANCE
Compression set resistance or the ability to resist collapse, under compressive stress, is vital when designing with foams and critical to the longestivity of a material. All PORON urethane foam materials are known for their superior resistance to taking a set allowing the materials to continue to perform, continuing to perform in the application over the the lifetime of the device or enclosure.
-
VIBRATION ABSORBTION
PORON urethane foam materials can help protect the vital components in electronic devices from the damaging effects of vibration and impact energy. Cell phones, laptops, Blu-ray players, diagnostic electronic tools, and a wide range of devices with sensitive components. PORON materials can damp natural frequency vibrations and isolate constant, long-term vibrations. Rogers has many tools that can help you select the right material. Dynamic compression force deflection data for Finite Elemental Analysis, and energy impact information in our proprietary Impact Prediction Program are all available.
-
LOW OUTGASSING
All PORON urethane foam products utilize raw materials that have been selected or specifically developed to result in the lowest outgassing possible. Some of these materials are used in disk drive applications and space technology that require the cleanest of materials
-
BROAD TEMPERATURE FLEXIBILITY
These materials remain flexible over a broad temperature range. The PORON urethane foam material product offering generally has an effective temperature range of -40 Celsius to 90 Celsius. Please refer to the material property data sheets for specific temperature performance. Our development engineers have created materials that are able to remain flexible, do not dry out and will not particulate upon aging.
-
INDOOR AND OUTDOOR GASKETING
PORON materials are recognized by Underwriters Laboratory as suitable gasketing material for enclosures indoor & outdoor. PORON materials have been used in electrical boxes and applications requiring Ingress Protection (IP) and National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) compliance. PORON materials have been successful in sealing out the environment including on door gaskets on roof top enclosures to access panels on the Hubbell Space telescope!
-
FLAME RETARDANCY
Many of our products are recognized by Under Writers Laboratory for being flame retardant. The level of recognition is HBF and generally the minimum thickness required is 1.57 mm. This is accomplished without the addition of the typical halogenated fire retardant additives.
