How does telemedicine work?

Telemedicine works just like making a video call with your loved ones. If you are familiar with apps like FaceTime or Facebook Messenger, you’ll find telemedicine a great alternative to going to the clinic.

Will insurance pay for video visits?

Due to events related to COVID-19, insurers have removed the barriers that prevented us from providing services via telemedicine. If your insurance covers a doctor visit, then in most cases it will cover a telemedicine visit. 

What about Medicare?

Medicare recently announced it will cover telemedicine for everyone. If you have a Medicare Advantage plan, there will be zero out-of-pocket costs. Read more here. 

Is the quality of care the same as an in-person visit?

While there’s no replacement for in-office technology like x-rays and ultrasounds, cameras on modern mobile devices have such a high resolution, your podiatrist will be able to see your feet as though he/she were in the room with you. 

Talking to your podiatrist about your symptoms along with being able to see your foot is a great option for getting a treatment plan from the comfort of your home. 

What if I need a prescription or procedure?

Your podiatrist can write a prescription as if you were in our clinic!
